The Ministry of Planning has launched a 5-year development plan for the 20 poorest districts of the country, the plan has been sent by CDWP to ECNIC for approval.
The Ministry of Planning’s statement said that the estimated cost of the first phase of the project is 40 billion rupees, the project will be completed on the basis of collaboration between the federal and provincial governments.
According to the announcement, this is the first project of its kind in the economic history of Pakistan.
Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal says that 11 districts have been added from Balochistan, 5 from Sindh, 3 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 1 from Punjab.
Ahsan Iqbal said that most of the districts have been badly affected by the recent flood disasters, this project is a part of Youth Development Programme.
